We needed parts and they were very helpful
Very knowledgeable about RVs and were willing to let you know about other RV dealers
They have a great selection and we're very nice, but after the papers are signed and after the sale they don't give you the time of day or call you back when you need help with something..
BUYER BEWARE!!! We just purchased a used 5th wheel camper - August of 2017. The staff was friendly. We have never been so disappointed with a major purchase, as we were with this purchase!!! We had to come back later so they could go through the camper and make sure that EVERYTHING was working properly. (We live 285 miles away from Bismarck.) When they tell you they will make sure everything will be working properly, you want to believe it will be. The shower door was hard to open and only 1/2 of the plastic was in place on top of the shower door. I was told the plastic would be replaced – which it never was and that the shower door just needed to be “lifted up the door”. Husband had to shut the shower door while I was in the shower. The second time they FINALLY adjusted it. Still has to be lifted up. Spent the first night on the RV lot . Turned on the water in the camper and it had a HORRIBLE smell. The water tanks had NOT been cleaned and the water in the fresh water tank and the hot water heater was rancid. Eventually they did get the rancid smell and the rotten water out. We were told the carpet had been cleaned. On the carpet was a dead dried up wasp. I picked it up and got the stinger in my finger. What a poor cleaning job! I pulled on the back shade, and it fell apart. Was fixed the next day. Later, we had 2 more shades fell apart with missing parts. We were told they had been fixed - they were not. We were told it only had 1 gray water tank release valve. The sensors showed one gray water tank full and the other one empty. We were told by 2 different people at Capital RV that there was only 1 gray water release valve. A few days later, we had full hook ups. We did not realize there was a SECOND gray water tank release until it was backed up into my sink and smelled like sewer!! The trap was NOT plugged, and found out on the internet that there was a second release valve underneath one of the slides. I told them the black water tank sensor showed the tank full. They were supposed to have cleaned it but even after we purchased it, it still showed full. They put water in the black water tank and some cleaning solution, which was supposed to have cleaned it, but it didn’t. Wasn’t that supposed to have been done BEFORE we purchased it? There was a small fridge under the camper to which we were told the previous owner wanted it. The camper had been cleaned out by the previous owner, so why was the previous owner of the camper NOW taking the fridge 5 days later? While on vacation, we tried hooking the camper back up to the pickup. It barely would lift the camper so we backed the pickup up and finished lifting the camper that way. We still are not sure if the battery is working properly or not. We told them about this – but I am not sure if it was even checked. We purchased the extended service warranty. The only person that seemed to know what this covered was Mark, the person that sold it to us. We only had driven about 170 miles when we had a tire blow. The insurance had us in “pending” status, but Mark was able to get it into “active” status so they could fix our tire. We made it back to Capital RV in Bismarck, and Rod was kind enough to put us up in a motel so they could do some repair work on our 5th wheel the next day. We had to replace all of the tires, to our big disappointment. I called the owner of Capital RV and told him everything that had happened, including the part about the fridge. He told me he would check into things mentioned above and get back to me. I told him how disappointed I was that we had only owned the camper for 1 week and all of these things had happened. I am hoping he will return the phone call and try and make some compensation for all of the things mentioned above, but I am not holding my breath on it. But in the meantime, BUYER BEWARE!!!! Make sure everything is in GOOD WORKING CONDITION BEFORE you make your purchase with Capital RV because even when they say it is fixed, it may not be!!!
When your salesman tells you they do a thorough inspection of the camper and make sure "everything works" I expect that everything should work. That was not the case, leaks in the roof, which were supposedly fixed, that continued to leak. I ended up tearing the back of the camper apart and replacing the insulation, framing and paneling. The bathroom sink would not shut off and the pipes leaked out the kitchen faucet and the wall where the city connection is. Then we find that the grey tank is cracked and leaking. I understand I bought a used older camper, but when I am specifically told that things work or will be checked and they aren't it is very upsetting. I do not appreciate being lied to. I do not recommend capital RV to anyone and when it's time for me to purchase a new camper it will not be from them!
