Came for a visit to Bismarck from out of town. Great place with beautiful well maintained grounds. Although not the biggest zoo, they definitely make up with quality. Animals which are very active (especially in the winter) and staff is friendly and helpful. The wilderness trail is a nice place to walk too
Nice kid friendly .. they have a lot of fun activities on holidays for the kids.. just wish they had a bigger selection of animals
One thing I always find odd is that zoos (not exclusively this one) often have bald eagles in enclosures where they are unable to fly. I understand that some of these birds have been injured and are unable to live in the wild, but it still seems strange to have our symbol of freedom in captivity.
Nice little zoo. Reasonably priced. Not so huge that it is overwhelming or exhausting, but still a wide variety of animals. Animals seems to be well taken care of.
Ok so I do love this zoo mostly for nostalgias sake. It is slowly improving finally. Many of the animals have small, outdated enclosures. Some animals seem pretty miserable every time we visit. I do realize the zoo is probably limited mostly by their donations I just wish they could start fresh in another location with larger habitats for the animals and more stimulating things for the animals to do. We love the zoo memberships reciprocity in other cities and states.
We go to the zoo a lot and kids always enjoy themselves. The membership is well worth it as there is too much to see in one visit. The Zoo Snooze and camps are great.
